William Martin Joel is an American singer, composer, pianist and songwriter. Nicknamed the "Piano Man" after his single and signature song, he led a commercially successful career as a solo artist since the 1970s, having released twelve pop and rock studio albums from '71 to '93 as well as one studio album of original classical music in 2001.
