Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to action-adventure stealth video game Batman: Arkham Asylum, based on DC Comics' Batman, for Onlive, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Microsoft Windows. It is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game was officially announced during the beginning of the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards and is scheduled to be released worldwide the week of October 18, 2011.Batman: Arkham City is the direct sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum , and will be released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 18, 2011. A Wii U version is expected some time in 2012. Taking place a year after Arkham Asylum, the storyline starts with Quincy Sharp turning the Gotham slums into a cordoned off, prison colony named Arkham City with psychologist Hugo Strange as its warden. The gameplay has been updated to incorporate more of Batman's gadgets in combat and a new faster traversal system. Players will also be able to play as Catwoman in certain sections of the game.
